19 Feb Giverny Studios
Challenge | Collaborate with a small group of Architecture, Interior, and Graphic Design majors to create a cohesive redesign of Lane Library as a live-work space for artists.
Solution | Our group collaboratively decided to create a space for graduate students because they are in a transitional stage. In essence, they are neither a tadpole nor a frog; they have sprouted legs, yet still need water to grow. As grad students emerge and mature into their future selves, they need convenience, a community, and a short commute to successfully create and evolve. Just as Monet flourished his creative practice in Giverny, France, grad students are invited to develop their creative passions in our studios.
Together, our group worked to conceptualize, brand, and create products for this new space. We designed patterns that were turned into textures on walls and windows throughout the space, along with signage for the studio, gallery, and tea bar.
